Our main objective at Eluxoweni Children's Shelter is to facilitate programmes and projects that bring relief and care to marginalised and abandoned children, particularly street children.

We aim to rehabilitate street children with the hope of reintegrating them with their families. We also help to generate parental interest and awareness around the needs of these children.

Our mission is to initiate, sustain and encourage schooling, Christianity and skills development to poor and needy children with the primary focus on local street or homeless children in and around the Makana District Municipality in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.

We work hard to devise programmes that take a broad, holistic view of the factors that affect children, such as:

• The impact of AIDS on young children;
• Issues related to violence, abuse and neglect;
• Health and Nutritional needs and problems.
