After initially refusing to respond to questions on the controversy around his editing of the book “Global Journalism”, Prof Arrie de Beer more recently decided to go on the record about the matter.
He expressed a degree of self-criticism in regard to the fact that the edition of the book which he oversaw had made no acknowledgement of earlier work by Prof Anju Chaudhary.
Question: Can you spot the differences below?
Answer: Only the dates and authors are different.
The excerpts come from a popular journalism textbook, Global Journalism.

The exercise exposes how the book has regurgitated research by one set of authors, and credited it to different authors, without update or acknowledgment of the original source.
